Senior Network Administrator at Scripps Networks
Andy Cowell has twenty years of system administration experience in a variety of environments. Currently, he works for Scripps Networks in a cross-functional Converged Infrastructure team, managing highly integrated virtualized environments. Previously, he was the senior Network Administrator for Scripps, where he managed data center and Internet connectivity for websites such as Dilbert.com, HGTV.com and FoodNetwork.com. In the distant past, he worked for local ISP ICX Online, and was a "wizard" with the UTK CS department.
Software Defined Networking (SDN) is becoming a common buzzword alongside Agile Methodologies and Cloud Computing. We will discuss at a high level what SDN is and how it differs from traditional networking, as well as discussing SDN products and technologies.
