John is a Customer Engineer for Peak Hosting; responsible for supporting thousands of customer systems deployed in multiple data centers across the US an Europe. Over the past 15+ years John has used various RedHat distributions, starting with RedHat Linux 5.1 in 1998, to deploy everything from embedded systems for the military to some of the fastest supercomputers in the world. John has a B.S. from Florida Gulf Coast University and multiple industry certifications in security and systems Administration.

There's been a lot of talk surrounding the changes RedHat has made in the latest release of it's flagship operating system, RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). In changing key components, many worry that RedHat has affected the reliability, manageability, and scalability of the core components of this popular operating system. This talk will focus on separating fact from FUD by highlighting some of the key differences between RHEL 6.5 and RHEL 7. We'll also provide some resources to help the busy SysAdmin better understand their RHEL 7 upgrade path.
