About the Speaker

Linux Systems Adminitrator / DevSecOps Specialist at US DOE Office of Scientific and Technical Information
Michael is a Linux Systems Administrator and DevSecOps Specialist at the DOE's Office of Scientific and Technical Information (OSTI). There he manages Red Hat Enterprise Linux and OpenShift environments while also acting as the organization's DevSecOps specialist. He has run research HPC at the CDC during COVID 19, helped lift the California court system's statewide Oracle deployment into the cloud, and become infamous for returning 3 pages of corrections to a 1 page document. Michael has a lifelong passion for librarianship and the preservation and management of information. This led him to get a masters degree in library and information sciences in 2023 specializing in academic librarianship. His program included extensive information sciences training which lead to new insights and applications in his technical life while also being able to advertise himself as a "holistic unicorn" in professional settings.
